Free Is Genuinely Free

Take one of the Inc Authority formation packages and the agent role costs nothing for the opening twelve months. We went looking for the trap and did not find one: no setup charge attached to the free term, no shortened window, no penalty for walking away at the anniversary. For a company in its opening year that is a real expense removed, and anyone telling you otherwise is arguing with the sales page.

Year Two Has No Number

The renewal price is the problem, and specifically the fact that we could not find it. Our review in July 2026 worked through the pages a buyer would normally consult before committing, and the second-year figure appeared on none of them. The pattern this fits is familiar in the category: the number surfaces at checkout, or on a phone call, once the buyer is already partway in.

We will not guess at it. Publishing an invented renewal for a competitor would destroy the only argument this page is making, which is that a recurring charge belongs in public before you agree to the thing that recurs.

What can be said without the number is that Hawaii requires an appointed agent for every year your entity stays registered. That makes the renewal the actual price of the service and the free year the demonstration. Learning the renewal after a vendor's address is already printed on your filings is learning it at the least useful moment available.

So ask. Request the second-year figure in writing before you order, from them, from us, from anyone else on your list. A company that will not put a recurring price in an email has told you something.

Hawaii Itself Sets the Standard

There is an instructive contrast sitting in this state's own fee schedule. Hawaii charges $25 to change a registered agent and adds one dollar for the State Archives on permanent records, and it publishes that dollar. Articles of Organization are $50, with the same archives dollar collected on top. The annual report is $15 by paper and $12.50 online. Every one of those figures is posted where anyone can read it before spending anything.

If DCCA's business registry can commit to a single dollar in print, a national vendor can commit to its own renewal in print. The bar is not high and it is not novel.

Our Second Year, in Advance

Ninety-nine dollars, the same as the first, and that is the complete price list. The fee buys a Hawaii street address for your state record, a same-day scan of every legal document that reaches us, a portal that stores each one, and reminders keyed to the deadline your entity actually has. One optional item exists: $15 per piece if you want ordinary business mail scanned alongside legal documents. Published, like the rest of it.

We stop short of calling that the lowest price in Hawaii, because BetterLegal advertises $90 and we would rather you hear it from us. Among the lowest published rates in the state, identical in year two, is the claim we will defend.

Leaving Is Cheap Whatever the Renewal Turns Out to Be

Hawaii moves the appointment on a single form, X-7, for a $25 fee plus the archives dollar, filed with the state's business registration division. Our change of agent instructions cover the whole procedure, including who qualifies to take the role.

The sequence is the part to get right. If a surprise invoice is what brought you here, the instinct is to cancel first and sort the paperwork afterward. Resist it. Ending an agent arrangement does nothing to your company's registration; all it does is empty the address a court has been told to use. Name the replacement, file, confirm the record, then close the old account.
