The interest behind this page is worth knowing up front. HI Registered Agent.org charges $99 a year to hold a Hawaii appointment and would like to hold yours, so read what follows as advocacy with its arithmetic exposed. They Do Not Hide the Cadence

Agent service is $149, billed quarterly, and the quarterly part is right there in the description rather than buried in a terms document. The filing operation behind it is quick and the ordering process is clean, which is what the company built its name on.

Multiply Before You Compare

A price of $149 reads like a competitive annual rate, because almost every other agent service in this market quotes an annual rate. This one is not annual. Four billing cycles at $149 come to roughly $596 a year, which is what the appointment actually costs to hold for twelve months.

No accusation is being made here. The structure is disclosed and the math is available to anyone who does it. The trouble is that most people do not, because a charge that recurs four times a year lands on a card statement in pieces small enough to look like a utility bill, while the annual equivalent would prompt a conversation.

The Only Quarter a Hawaii Owner Should Track

There is a quarterly rhythm that genuinely matters in this state, and it has nothing to do with billing. Hawaii schedules annual reports by the quarter in which your entity was organized. Form in February and the report is due each year by March 31. Form in August and the deadline is September 30. In every case the window opens on the quarter's first day, and nothing at all is owed during the formation year.

The report itself is required by HRS § 428-211, and the fee is $15 on paper or $12.50 through the state's online system, plus the one-dollar archives charge. The penalty for missing it is disproportionate: up to $100 for every thirty days the delinquency runs, and two years of silence exposes the entity to administrative termination. That is the quarterly calendar a Hawaii business needs to keep. Paying an agent four times a year does nothing to help with it.

One Charge, Then Nothing Until Next Year

Our invoice arrives once and reads $99. The renewal reads $99. In between, anything a process server hands to our Hawaii office is scanned and passed to you before that business day ends, your address stays off the public record in favor of ours, and the reminder ahead of your report deadline is set to your actual quarter rather than a generic date.

Cheapest in the state is not ours to claim, since BetterLegal publishes $90 a year. What is defensible is that $99 sits among the lowest published Hawaii rates and that it is the entire annual cost rather than one of four installments.

What Hawaii Charges to End It

The change runs on Form X-7, submitted to the Business Registration Division (BREG) with a $25 filing fee and a single dollar for the State Archives, on paper or through the online filing service Hawaii stood up in July 2026.
